Frequently asked questions
- Is the mockup watermarked?
- No. The image you download is the finished mockup with nothing added, and there is no account, no trial and no export limit. That is unusual for mockup tools, most of which either stamp the output or hold the unwatermarked version behind a subscription.
- Can I use these mockups on Etsy or in an ad?
- Yes, including commercially. The scenes are ours and you are free to use the mockups you make for listings, ads, social posts and anything else. The artwork you drop in remains entirely yours and never leaves your device.
- Is my artwork uploaded anywhere?
- No. The scene is drawn onto a canvas in your own browser, your artwork is drawn underneath it, and the finished image is produced there too. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored, which also means an unreleased design is not sitting on somebody else's machine.
- How does the artwork end up behind the glass?
- The scene image has a genuinely transparent rectangle where the frame's opening is. Your artwork is drawn first and the scene is drawn on top, so the artwork shows through the opening while the reflection, the bevel and the shadow, which are painted into the scene itself, fall across it.
- What size should my artwork be?
- Larger than the frame opening, which is a few hundred pixels across. Anything from a normal camera or design tool is comfortably enough. If a file is too small to fill the frame the tool says so rather than stretching it, because a stretched mockup looks worse than no mockup.
- What resolution is the download?
- Up to 2000 pixels on the longest edge, which is more than Etsy, Pinterest and Instagram will display and enough for most print-on-demand listings. You can choose JPG, WebP or PNG, and JPG is the usual answer for a listing photo.
- Can I use my own room photo as the scene?
- Not yet. The scenes need a transparent area cut where the frame opening is, and a photograph straight from a camera has no transparency in it. More scenes are being added.
