- 1584 x 396 pixels, a 4:1 shape, under 8 MB, as a JPG or PNG. It is the same image LinkedIn calls the background photo and many people call the cover photo. Company pages use a different cover, 1128 x 191.
- Why is my LinkedIn background photo cropped?
- It is extremely wide, so most photos are cut down a lot to fit, and your profile photo then covers the lower left. On a phone the sides are trimmed as well. Resize to exactly 1584 x 396 and keep the important parts inside the dashed box, and they will show on both.
- Where should text go on a LinkedIn banner?
- In the right half, and in the upper part of it. The profile photo covers the lower left on a computer and more of it on a phone. The preview here shows both views so you can check before uploading.
- Should I use JPG or PNG?
- JPG for a photo. PNG for a graphic with text or a logo, which keeps lettering crisp. Both are far below the size limit.
